Typical Weather in Vancouver

I took this picture yesterday at the Terminal Ave. Skytrain station.

When friends back home ask me what the weather is like in Vancouver this is the image that quickly comes to mind. Wet, cold and overcast most of the time. Two to three times a year there would be snow which will be gone in one to two weeks. The good thing is that during winter time, temperature rarely stays below -15 C. However, for most people who moved here, it is the prolonged absence of sunny days that is really bothersome.

It was Spring when I moved here in Vancouver. Back then I used to wonder why during sunny days, people would often start a friendly conversation with remarks about how "wonderful" or "marvelous" the day is. Now, I completely understand why.
